From one teacher’s point of view, Mommy Power is that adrenaline that rolls her out of bed in the morning to help her kids start the day and get to school on time. It’s the mother who sits down and plays my little teacher-made math games with her child and actually writes me a note about how it went. It’s the mother who hates confrontation but will speak her mind when she feels that her child is being treated unfairly. It’s the mother who takes two buses and a train in the morning to deliver her little girl to our school and then does the same thing six hours later to be there with a big smile on her face to greet her daughter at the day’s end.
