What is mummy power?

Mummy power is that special quality that mummies have which makes them all supermummy.Mummy power is what gets you through the pregnancy, when you are tired and heavy, with ankles the size of tree-trunks, acid reflux and varicose veins. Mummy power gives you the strength to push when you know you haven’t the tiniest scrap of energy left. Mummy power is what gets you out of bed at 4am every night for a month. 

Mummy power is what makes mummy kisses the only salve for grazed knees. Mummy power gets lunches made, sports kit washed and math homework calculated. Mummy power lasts through college when grubby children come home with even grubbier underwear.

Mummy power is magical and precious. Mummy power cuddles make everything bad go away, a safe haven in a scary world. Mummy power frightens monsters in the dark, and quietens sleepy children.

Mummy power rocks.
