There is a language between women that needs no words. There is an unspoken tie that binds them together through their heart strings and their emotions. When women reach out with their hands they touch with their hearts. From woman to woman a kinship exists that needs no formal acknowledgement. Within this kinship is a knowing that each is a comrade. A woman, a mother, a sister, a friend, an aunt, no matter the name a woman belongs to this army. This army carries with it a force that is unparalleled. This army is of power. Not the kind of power that exists for its own sake but the kind of power that enables others. For real power is that which empowers others. ”Mommy power” is the kind of power that comes from a kinship of women who are tied so closely in their purpose to reach higher for the sake of the children who come after them. They empower not only for the children of their blood, but for the children of their earthly community. Mother earth supports this power and her heart beats beneath our feet and over our heads and in our hearts. This power is yet to be fully realized. When this power is unleashed, mother earth will breathe easy knowing that the children have found their way home to her. Home is safe, home is full of love, and home is where we all can rest knowing we have supported each other as mother’s do, as women do.
