What a smart concept.  Lyn Giancotti, a mom in Massachusetts, created Mommies Mobil Meals which provide home cooked meals for mothers in need of a break and senior citizens. Over 45 local mothers have joined this group to provide the home cooked meals. Here’s a brief excerpt: The group formed in September after Giancotti returned home from the hospital after minor surgery and found food left for her and her family on the doorstep. This was such a positive experience for her she wanted to do the same for others. “I think a lot of moms take care of and feed their families and friends,” she said. Mommies Mobile Meals is a chance for these women to both share and receive. Click Here to Read Full Story

Mommy Power is the unbelievable ability to unconditionally smother your child with all encompassing love! As a new mom, I am overwhelmed with my need and desire to protect, cherish, and provide for my baby. Mommy Power is the ability to breast-feed, talk on the phone, and type with one hand! It is amazing the things moms can accomplish when they need to. Mommy Power is a special thing – I am so happy to be a mom and now realize the decisions I make in life no longer effect just me, but also my child. Read more »

Good for Diana Lee. This Lake Stevens, WA mom took action when she realized that her niece was sold bogus tickets on Craigslist for a Taylor Swift concert. She worked with the local police department and set up a sting so the police could apprehend the suspects. Here’s an excerpt: “Lee got in touch with the same sellers and arranged to buy more tickets. When they showed up to make the sale, Lake Stevens police were waiting. They say the two women were carrying a dozen forged tickets and a bunch of cash.”

What is Mommy Power?

Mommy Power is the amazing ability instilled in all moms. It is the ability to kiss away the boo-boos, the way we sing away the sorrows, the wisdom we give to ease childhood dilemmas and the pure love we put in everything we do for them. It is the way we bring in the sunshine on a rainy day, the way we face every obstacle to provide the best for our kids-no matter the circumstance and it is the light that shines in their eyes. It is the way we make take the everyday and turn it into happy memories for them. Read more »

Three Olympic Games and shooting for a fourth in 2010, Jenny Potter of Edna, MN is still going strong. I find it unbelieveable this mother of 2 has the energy, strength and dedication to continue her Olympic dreams in such a demanding sport for so long. But most importantly, she puts her family first.

“I don’t know how she does it,” fellow U.S. forward Julie Chu says. “At the end of the day, we lift, we practice, we’re exhausted and we take a two-hour nap. She goes home and has to take care of her family, and then go off to work.

Mommy Power. I have 5 children. One is about to go to college, the other 4 are all ages 9 and under. I recieved a call to go out of town for 4 days for business. Normally this would not seem to be a big except that I had to leave the day after I was told. As all mothers know we are used to being in charge of all aspects of our childrens lives. So, I had all of their clothes laid out for each day. Notified teachers, schools and daycare that I would not be in town and my husband was in charge. (That is scary in itself). I wrote out doctors numbers, emergency contact numbers, and schedules of where each child had to be and at what time. Read more »

Mommy power encompasses many things because being a mommy requires so many things. Mommy power means having the ability to multi-task, keeping the balance between protecting your children at all costs and giving them everything you can with raising them to be good adults, and being the one your whole family can turn to whenever someone or something is needed. It’s a difficult balance, and a hard job, but having mommy power keeps families together and children happy and healthy. Mommy power is what keeps everything together.

I love this story on the Boston Channel.com about enterprising mom who has leveraged her web blogging skills to put food on her family’s table…Literally! Valerie Gates, a graphic designer from Wellesley, MA has arrangements with local New England farms to blog about their farms in exchange for organic foods. Here’s a brief excerpt:

Gates writes about local organic farms on her blog in exchange for organic produce, raising the visibility of small New England farmers while getting food for her family — one example of how bartering is returning in the digital age.”
